Get the results that you deserve!

Are you undertaking your PhD thesis, studying for your Master’s, or completing your undergraduate dissertation? I offer students a proofreading and light editing service for the completion stage of document preparation. I help you express yourself clearly, in a formal academic tone, giving you the confidence that you are submitting a flawless piece of work.

As your proofreader, my role is to correct grammar and typographical faults and highlight stylistic and structural errors. I will return your master copy document with added suggestions. However, you are responsible for choosing which advice to accept and which changes to make.

Ethical Proofreading

Disallowed

Ethical Proofreading vs Disallowed.

Ethical

  • Correct errors in spelling, grammar, and punctuation
  • Identify syntactical errors and anomalies
  • Draw attention to repeated phrases or omitted words
  • Point out inconsistent phrases or sentences
  • Highlight ambiguous sentences or paragraphs
  • Call attention to a lack of logical flow
  • Identify typographical errors (including querying facts, but only if this does not impact the content of the work)
  • Draw attention to errors in the labelling of diagrams, charts, or figures
  • Highlight inaccurate or inconsistent referencing (check that there is a citation for every reference and vice versa).
  • Identify formatting and layout inaccuracies and inconsistencies (e.g. page numbers, font size, line spacing, headers, and footers).

  • Altering content to comply with a required word limit
  • Checking or correcting data
  • Modifying labels to diagrams, charts, or figures
  • Implementing changes to the referencing system
  • Make stylistic or structural modifications
  • Translating any part of the work
